Xin Hui Port Welcomes Bulk Pulp Ships from Asia Symbol (Guangdong) and Vinda Paper Industries
On June 8th, around noon, the Singaporean vessel “GLORY HONOR,” carrying 3,500 tons of imported wood pulp, slowly docked at Xin Hui Port in Jiangmen City. This marks the first bulk cargo vessel received by Xin Hui Port this year for Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper Co., Ltd. and Vinda Paper Industries (China) Co., Ltd.
Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper Co., Ltd. and Vinda Paper Industries (China) Co., Ltd. have grown into leading manufacturers of household sanitary products in Asia, making them prominent brands in Xin Hui. They are currently the largest producers of commodity wood pulp in China. The successful docking of this foreign trade cargo ship at Xin Hui Port highlights the rapid development of the companies’ logistics networks and the significant enhancement of the port’s comprehensive hub capabilities.
The open port is bustling with vitality and endless potential. “The early intervention of border inspection allowed us to operate with ‘zero waiting time’ upon arrival,” said Mr. Zhang, a logistics manager at the company. “Previously, imported wood pulp had to be unloaded at other ports and then transported by truck to our factory, incurring additional costs. This time, unloading at Xin Hui Port is like unloading at our ‘factory gate,’ significantly reducing transportation time and saving nearly ten thousand in freight costs.”
Seizing opportunities and navigating through challenges, more new routes are being rapidly established. For Asia Symbol and Vinda, who are continuously expanding their international import and export business, this development brings more opportunities and benefits from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Xin Hui Port is accelerating its network within ASEAN, launching six fast shipping routes covering five countries to facilitate cargo flow and trade between Xin Hui and ASEAN regions. A direct route between Xin Hui and Thailand provides a fast maritime channel for Chinese-made food raw materials to reach the ASEAN market. The “Indonesia-Xin Hui” route offers a green channel for import trade, and new direct import routes for Thai palm pulp, Vietnamese coconut pulp, and Indonesian wood pulp have been established.
